The “Chicago” Planning Committee has “set the bar high” for ourselves in organizing the 2013 Garner Family Reunion! In addition to the fun, inspirational and enlightening activities planned for “Family Fun Night, the Picnic and our Banquet, with your help, we will have a Family Museum on display, as well as a special ceremony to remember and honor family members who have departed this life. Our Theme: “Who Are We?” Our Goal: Unity, Discovery, and Lots of Fun!



Our reunion will be held at the Holiday Inn Gurnee Convention Center in Gurnee, Illinois. This Holiday Inn is in close proximity to Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport (ORD) & Milwaukee’s General Mitchell Airport (MKE), Six Flags Great America, Gurnee Mills Mall and other area/Chicago attractions. Leading up to the 2013 Reunion, the website will feature family history, photos and other fun and informative highlights. So, for those who have access to the internet, we ask that you check back to this website frequently for updated information as we confirm the details and activities for our Reunion weekend. You can also help us build the website and Reunion slideshow by emailing copies of your family photos.



The dictionary meaning of “Garner” is “to gather or collect.” We are making every attempt “to garner” contact information on as many family members as possible in an effort to unite the descendants of Henry and Celia Garner. Thanks to the help of many of you, we have been able to contact a large number of family members we knew nothing about. So, “family,” expect to be reunited with “kin folk” you've lost contact with and to meet lots of new ones you never knew existed.



This Reunion is sure to be a time of laughs, catching up, reminiscing, and memory-making…and you won’t want to miss it! So get those registration forms in to Cousin Bobbie Garner King no later than August 16, 2013. And don’t forget to make your hotel reservations at the Holiday Inn - Gurnee before the deadline date of: July 31, 2013, 12:00 a.m. We can’t wait to see you face to face!
